Working closely with artists who were presented in the Venice Biennale Arte since 2019  I fell in love – with the city of Venice and its ravages of time, with living on water and being devoured by it and with Venetians. Since 2019 I have been fortunate to explore Venice in a terribly unique time of plague and lockdown – visiting the historic quarantine headquarters and museums, wandering byways, canals, islands (many of the 118 islands) and encountering a silent, vacant Venice – devoid of tourists and crowds.  I wish to share an intimate experience of another side of Venice and the Veneto region with our guests!

On Beyond the Biennale, you can expect to be treated to a uniquely designed trip that highlights local Venetian businesses and less frequented destinations  beyond the bustling crowds and art exhibitions of the Venice Biennale. Immerse yourself in the true essence of this enchanting city with Beyond the Biennale.  We sail through the Venice archipelago, savoring the flavors of local cuisine, sampling exquisite wines from nearby vineyards, and delving into the rich history and traditions of this remarkable region. Our aim is to provide an alternative perspective of Venice, one that celebrates its heritage and celebrates its vibrant community. 

 Beyond the Biennale is a collaboration with local Venetians (sailors, artists, curators, chefs, wine producers and 0 km family farms) in the Venice archipelago and mainland. We share our love of an authentic Venice and the Veneto region and provide an alternative experience of Venice that is far removed from the Biennale machine. Our bespoke encounters are designed to tickle and indulge the senses and are cohosted with Venetian locals and locally owned businesses.
